I am the author of Pass the Polenta: and Other Writings from the Kitchen, a culinary memoir drawn from family stories and my experiences cooking in farm-to-table restaurants along the West Coast and in New England. I hold a Master of Arts degree in Liberal Studies from Dartmouth College, with a concentration in creative writing. I went on to study the Italian language at Dartmouth and at private schools in Italy for many years. I currently teach Italian for the Rassias Center for World Languages at Dartmouth and give cooking classes. I live in New Hampshire with my husband and two children, our two chocolate labs, and a backyard flock of chickens. When I’m not in my kitchen, or at my writing desk, or in the classroom, you can find me outside in my garden, or in the woods—on foot, on my bike, or on my cross-country skis.
